My CLient

cannot pay its debts.

We have worked closely with accountants and lawyers for many years.  In fact, most of our work comes through referral from these professionals.     If you’re contacted by a client in difficulty, don’t hesitate to call us for initial advice, on a no-names basis if preferred.   We’re always available to discuss any problem your client may be facing.  We will attend your office (subject to any prevailing covid-19 regulations), or we’re happy to meet via video conference facilities.   Frequently, clients of accounting firms nominate the accountant’s office as the registered office of the company.  This may mean your office is first to receive official notifications from ASIC, the ATO, the State Revenue Office or from the other side of a legal dispute that affects your client. Documents of this nature that are indicative of financial distress should be acted upon immediately – call us for a confidential discussion.
We can assist you manage clients who:
  • don’t understand the options available to them and need advice;
  • are struggling emotionally with their circumstances and may be paralysed by a fear of what will happen to them if their business fails (will they lose their house?);
  • may be considering an act in breach of their duties as a director, for example, an illegal phoenix transaction;
  • have received a statutory demand or winding up application from a creditor; or
  • are being pursued by another liquidator for recovery of an alleged voidable preference payment they received from a debtor who has gone into liquidation
Please call us for a confidential discussion at any time.
